The Call of Traditional Islam   no comments

- as Summarized by Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi of Syria

Shaykh Muhammad (hafidhahu Llah) sums up his way in the following words:

“The main focus of Muslim activists in the field of Da’wa should be on making people aware of the importance of learning the Deen, studying the Shari’ah, and diving into the depths of the Sacred Knowledge in order to ultimately live upon it. The key to the success and triumph of the Muslim Umma unequivocally lies in Sacred Knowledge. Only through studying the Sacred Knowledge may we increase the fear of Allah in our hearts and precisely emulate the exemplar of the Prophet salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and follow the steps of the ‘Ulama. In order for the Umma to regain its intellectual consciousness and reinstate its sense of civilization, we need, beside following the Qur’an and the Sunna, to adhere to the way of the ‘Ulama that spans over fourteen centuries, a way that, in reflecting the Qur’an and the Sunna, articulated the corpus of fiqh and the exegeses of the Qur’an and Sunna, thus introducing the way to the following generations.

Definition of Atheism   no comments

Posted at 9:29 am in Islam Basics,Islam in the West

From Robbie Quayle’s Facebook page via brother Abu Safiyyah Al-Emreeki:

Definition of Atheism: The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically re-arranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs. Makes Perfect Sense.

In other words: Only a complete idiot remains an Atheist!

Claims About Islam and Some Replies to Them   no comments

Ridiculous and superficial claims are often made by Modernist (or simply uninformed) Muslims about what Islam is or isn’t… Here is a list of some of the oft-repeated claims we hear, and some short replies to them:

Claim no. 1: Islam is Democracy!

False! Democracy is “dêmos krátos” [more on that here] – the rule of the people – man-made laws. Representatives are elected and they come up with new laws and a lot of these laws change every time a new government is elected. Democracy is the “nice word” for the Capitalist system.

Fact: In Islam the “ruling system” is Shari’a, not “Democracy”!

The “War on Terror” is a “War on Islam”!   no comments

Posted at 8:45 am in Islam in the West,Modernism

The former head of the British armed forces who recently retired and appointed as a defence advisor to Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday confirmed that the war in Afghanistan is a war on Islam.

“He [the defence advisor] explicitly said if Muslims adopted Islam’s political ideas and the Khilafah ruling system, this would be unacceptable and warranted a military response from Britain. He had no issues with Muslims praying or enacting spiritual rituals, provided they surrendered political life to Western values.”

Al-Mihna (the Trial) of Our Age – Part Two   no comments

Bismillah

Al-hamdulillahi was-salatu was-salamu ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala Alihi wa Sahbihi ajma’in

As-salamu ‘alaykum,

This is a follow-up on my earlier post “Al-Mihna (the Trial) of Our Age”.

Having read catastrophical quotes from the book (a brick of 1000 pages) of the Amman Message I have come to the conclusion, based on husn al-dhann, that most (if not all) of the Sunni scholars who signed the Amman Message, could not possible have read the whole thing, before they signed it.

Being a Fundamentalist   no comments

We hear the word “Fundamentalist” repeated over and over again in the media.

But what does “fundamentalist” really mean? According to a common definition it denotes an adherent to a set of basic principles (often religious in nature).

According to Wikipedia,

“”Islamic fundamentalism” is most often used to describe Muslim individuals and groups which advocate Islamism, a political ideology calling for the replacement of state secular laws with Islamic law.” [source]

Bismillah

Al-hamdulillahi was-salatu was-salamu ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala Alihi wa Sahbihi ajma’in

As-salamu ‘alaykum,

In recent days I have taken part in several discussions on the Internet regarding the so-called “Amman Message”. A description of the Amman Message – taken from the front page of its official website (my underlining):
